A Word from our President
This programme has been sent out this month earlier than usual because February 2012 marks the bicentenary of the birth of Charles Dickens. This event will be widely celebrated not just in the English speaking world but also in those many countries where his work is appreciated.
Our Association has organised, on the eve of the birth of Dickens, readings in French and English of his work. This event has been organised in association with the Lycée Hotelier of Toulon.
It will be followed by a lunch on a British theme, prepared by the Chefs de Cuisine of the Lycée and we record our thanks to the Head of the Lycée and his staff for the welcome they have accorded us and their work which has made this event possible.
