PURPOSE OF THE ASSOCIATION

The Association FRANCE – GRANDE-BRETAGNE TOULON / VAR is an association, or club, whose aims are essentially cultural. Its primary object is the maintenance and development of links between France and Great Britain ( and also other countries speaking the English language).

The President and the committee, elected by the members, manage the association.

Any person whose adhesion is supported by a committee member or the president and who agrees to accept the statutes of the association may join.

The cycle of activities of the association is aligned with the school year, and usually runs from m September to June. A range of activities, in accord with the aims of the association and the desires of its members, is organised for each year.

Each month the schedule of activities is communicated to the members by post (or e-mail) and also is made available on the web site. This includes, typically:

  • one or more activities of general interest to most members, such as lectures or conferences, visits to exhibitions or sites of cultural interest, film shows etc. sometimes with a lunch or dinner arranged.

  • Several specialized activities, linked to the aims of the association, such as English conversation clubs, workshops where English works of literatures are studies and discussed, English-languages courses, etc.

  • Activities directly inspired by British traditions, such as the Christmas Dinner, the cheese and wine party, a quiz, etc.

  • From time to time a visit to the U.K. , to tour some interesting region, is arranged
